Rev. Jim Hatch, Pastor

Rev. Hatch joined our family in August of 1996.  In 1978, Rev. Hatch graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in sociology.  Following graduation he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers.  In 1979 he entered Columbia Seminary.  After graduating from seminary in 1982, Rev. Hatch served a small church in Springhill, Louisiana, until 1985 when he became Associate Pastor of a new church development in Jackson Mississippi.  In 1988 he accepted a call as Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Madisonville, Kentucky.  He remained there until accepting the call to Bartow.  Jim and Cathy have three children: James, Sarah, and Gabe.

Kent joined our Ministry Team in March of 2002.  He holds a Master's Degree in Education with an Emphasis in Music Education \ Conducting from the University of Missouri.  He is the Band Director at Union Academy Middle School.  Kent and his wife Charissa have a daughter, Allison and son, Cameron.

Charissa also joined our staff in March of 2002.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Hanibal-LaGrange College in Missouri and is the Chorus Teacher at Union Academy Middle School.

 

Deb Aguilar, Youth Pastor

Deb joined our ministry team in August of 2002.  She is a 2001 graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Religion.  Deb is married to Joe Aguilar.

 

Sharon Harris, Secretary

Sharon, a life-long resident of Bartow, came to First Presbyterian church in October of 1995.  Sharon and her husband, Lloyd, have two children, Alex and Ginny.

 

Karen Mathre, Nursery Worker

Karen is a Florida native and has lived in Bartow since 1988.  She and her husband, Dan, have five children:  Jacob, Hayden, Caleb, Joshua, and Hannah.  Karen worked as a secretary until she came home to raise her family.  Karen and Dan are members of First Presbyterian Church and are active in church activities and home school organizations.
